Practicing Digital Background Painting

We recently moved the desks from downstairs to upstairs and have yet to re-hookup the scanner. I’ll also be going out of town this weekend, so that adds to the delay of my posts. Since I spend most of my time drawing off of the computer, I’ve had nothing to update with.

However, I should start working on my Photoshop and Illustrator skills. When we moved our desks upstairs, I also finally hooked up my Wacom tablet again (since moving). I’ve been teaching myself Illustrator, by making logos and flyers and whatnot in it, but I think I’m losing touch with Photoshop now!

This is the last thing I’ve done in Photoshop, which I started before we moved. I wanted to practice making a background or full scene picture but I have yet to finish it. There’s still so much left to do. Some of the grassy areas look okay, but need a lot of refining.  That hut… has a long way to go.

I think that is typically how all my art is though. I can never manage to finish anything. Hopefully I can start putting some time back into this picture one day soon.

I think it is a great start, and I totally feel you on never completing anything. I’m the same way painfully. I’m lucky if I even finish an outline. I hope you get further with this one.
